I would like to know what the definition of her name is and if she was related to "Otherday"? I have seen past correspondences with an Otherday.  |

charlottekeoke; the name translates to Another Nest Woman.which otherday are you referring to? did she have an english Name? i don't have anything on her.Do you have any other info on her?

Hmmm, well, if it doesn't translate to Another Nest try this...
I am wondering if then Horpi is Hohpi, as there are no r's in Dakota, thats a Lakota thang...lol.. And when those Lakota record keepers used that R it is suppose to represent a guttural H. So if we spell it Hohpi Tokeca we almost have it. Except I think the O in Hohpi should be and A so maybe Hahpi Tokeca. Ask some elders what they think Hahpi Tokeca translates to. Tokeca is like maybe , Why wherefore, or Different, maybe she was a different daughter or not like the rest, or she wanted to know things all the time. lol, now I'm reaching, lol. Miss you, Sara

I am aware that the Dakotas did not use the r. I looked for the translation of the word as Hohpi, which I found translation for : nest. Tokecawin in the Dakota English dictionary translates to : another. I have seen the word Tokca which translates to enemy or different.
i am wondering if she may have been Sisseton or Wahpeton?

Thank you both and I miss you to Sara. I am doing some more research. I came across records of communication from "Otherday", she said she was her sister. I will see what more I can come up with to make sense of it all. Thank you.
